The Calm Chaos-Coordinator with a Dash of Adventure

Meet Karoline, our Operations Manager and all-around problem-solving genius. Once a translator and language teacher (‘in a previous life’), she now keeps the wheels of Comunica spinning smoothly — fixing CAT tool problems, perfecting project setups, and finding solutions to issues before most of us have even realised they exist. Nothing makes her happier than seeing those metaphorical knots start to loosen or when she gets that rare “smile through an email” from a client who’s just had their day made easier.

Her colleagues tease her good-naturedly for her charming ‘washed-out Norwegian accent with a Danish twist,’ but everyone knows she’s the one to turn to when things get tricky. Her days are pretty busy, but when she finds a moment to herself, Karoline’s perfect recipe for relaxation includes a glass of wine, a glowing sunset, a bit of yoga, or some stargazing under a clear night’s sky. And while family life keeps her schedule packed, her love for movie soundtracks and her secret party trick — an unexpectedly great Irish jig — remind everyone there’s more to her than spreadsheets and project flows.

Karoline studied at the Kristiania University of Applied Sciences in Oslo and she holds a C2 Mastery Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Instituto Cervantes. If she could swap jobs for a day, she’d pick Juan, our IT Manager, just to have fun ‘being the nerd,’ or Daniel, our accountant, to see how it feels to work with numbers instead of words.

She describes Comunica in one word: Human. And if the team ever found themselves stranded on a desert island, you can bet she’d be the one organising their shelter, mapping the surroundings, and keeping spirits high — our explorer at heart and organiser in chief.
