Gala,
Norwegian Translator
Gala is our in-house Norwegian translator, and while she loves working with her language and localising all kinds of texts, what she treasures most is being part of the Comunica crew. She holds a Degree in Romance Languages, Literature and Culture from the University of Salamanca, and as a speaker of Norwegian, English, Spanish, Bosnian and French, she’s well-equipped to take on almost any project.
At work, Gala is known for her curiosity – she’s basically the 🤔 emoji come to life, always asking questions and digging deeper. Her catchphrase is Kamalåså – a nonsense Norwegian word invented to poke fun at the Danish language. As you can imagine, it’s a word that comes to mind often, working as she does with so many chatty Danes around the office.
After work, Gala recharges by watching Netflix or Hayu, or better yet, skiing whenever she gets the chance. She doesn’t need coffee or tea – she produces enough energy on her own to power a small village. But one thing she can’t live without? Popcorn. Homemade, preferably, and in vast quantities.
In another life, Gala would star in a thriller – suspense, plot twists, the works. If she could teleport anywhere for lunch, she’d land straight in a Mexican restaurant with real totopos. Her hidden party trick? Pulling out her famous pasos prohibidos on the dance floor, a move everyone remembers.
When she thinks of team moments, the Comunica Day when they had a wine tasting and a treasure hunt in Mijas stands out – laughter, fun, and a reminder of why the team feels so close-knit. What she brings to the group is her straightforwardness; no sugar-coating, just honesty. If she could trade jobs for a day, she’d pick Tina’s role – her entrepreneurial streak would love the challenge of running the whole show. For Gala, Comunica is people first, always. And if the team were ever stranded on a desert island, you’d all want her around – because she’d be the one making sure everyone was fed, cooking up something delicious from whatever’s available.
