Our Language Experts
People are the backbone of everything we do. Without the right linguists, we wouldn’t have the expertise, the skill or the flair we need to create value for our clients.
From Swedish Knitters to Spanish Mathematicians
The key to providing good translation and localisation services lies in an excellent network of linguists – but putting this together is no walk in the park. It takes a rigorous, on-going recruitment and on-boarding cycle, continuous quality checks and feedback rounds, and open channels of communication to pick up on changes in availability, specialisation or needs.
This work is handled expertly by our Partnerships and Quality Manager, Paula, who keeps the database up-to-date and scours the web for unique talent. Because linguists are not just people who speak multiple languages – they’re highly trained in both the art of translation and their chosen specialisation.
Assigning a project is not just a matter of picking out the first linguist to top a list – it’s about surfing a matrix and finding that one unique person (or mix of people) who can combine all the skills we need.
Our People Person
Meet Paula – our Partnerships & Quality Manager. Paula’s role at Comunica is to continuously assess and liaise with applications from new translators, headhunt in our professional network for the talent we need, and to continuously monitor performance and share feedback with our linguists.

A Personal Approach
Good working relationships are essential to success – and that’s why we pride ourselves on being down to earth. By taking the time to engage with and understand our linguists, and adapt insofar as possible to their needs, we create an open and understanding environment that works for both parties.
The ultimate result is strong bonds between colleagues and a collaborative mindset that is aimed at producing the best possible results for our clients.
Start with an Internship
Many of our most trusted collaborators begin their working relationship with Comunica as interns in our Fuengirola office. This gives us both a chance to get to know each other better and develop a deeper working relationship.
The interns also receive training in localisation best practices, systems, CAT tools and work flow management. Read more here.
